Liaoning is situated in Northeast China, and is one of the cradles of the Manchu people. The Shenyang Imperial Palace served as the royal palace of the Qing Dynasty before the Qing crossed the Shanhai Pass to take control of the Central Plains, and its scale is second only to the Beijing Forbidden City; the Qing Yongling Mausoleum, Qing Fuling Mausoleum, and Qing Zhaoling Mausoleum are collectively known as the "Three Mausoleums Outside the Pass", bearing witness to the historical rise of the Manchu Qing Dynasty.
Dalian is a nationally renowned coastal city, with stunning sea views at Bangchuidao Island and Jinshitan Beach; Panjin Red Beach presents an endless red spectacle of alkali grass in autumn; Benxi Water Cave is the longest underground river karst cave in China.
