Design Concept

With a dual narrative structure of "Modern Jiangnan · Modern China and Ink-Wash Jiangnan": Shanghai embodies the modern, cosmopolitan face of the region, Suzhou preserves classical scholar-official gardens and the refined charm of Pingtan storytelling, Hangzhou showcases Southern Song dynasty landscape aesthetics and the Zen-infused tea culture, and Wuzhen concludes the journey with the water town nightscape of households perched over the water.

The itinerary follows a three-tier progressive framework: high-profile landmark IPs including the Bund, West Lake and the Humble Administrator's Garden serve as iconic memory anchors, Tianzifang and Wuzhen West Scenic Area deliver immersive, niche experiential depth, and four intangible cultural heritage items — Suzhou embroidery, Pingtan storytelling, Longjing tea roasting, and indigo calico printing — offer portable cultural takeaways.

For transportation, a single business vehicle travels the entire route in sequence (Shanghai → Suzhou → Hangzhou → Wuzhen → Shanghai), with the longest drive (from Suzhou to Hangzhou) taking just 2 hours, eliminating the fragmented hassle of transferring between high-speed trains and hauling luggage multiple times.

The itinerary is paced to include authentic everyday Chinese scenes such as the early morning market at the City God Temple, Pingtan performances at old teahouses on Suzhou's Pingjiang Road, morning Tai Chi practice by West Lake, and local grandmothers hand-making indigo calico in Wuzhen, allowing guests to journey from a global metropolis to water-hugging households in just 7 days, and experience the unbroken continuity of Jiangnan from ancient times to the present.

When visiting Longjing tea producing areas or Su embroidery studios, do not touch the artisans' tools.
