Our Origin
The World Has Seen China, But Has Yet to Truly Meet China

One day, a French photographer arrived in Jiangnan, China. It was the rainy season. Instead of visiting famous landmarks, he wandered into a quiet village lane and followed an elderly woman for three hours. He was searching for only one thing: a piece of traditional indigo-dyed fabric drying beneath the rain. Later, he said: "I finally saw China. Not the Great Wall. Not the Forbidden City. But the silhouette of someone hanging clothes in the rain."

At that moment, we realized something: the world has never lacked images of China. But many people have yet to truly encounter China. We are a collective of 10 locally rooted travel specialists across China. For more than a decade, we have walked through ancient towns and mountain villages, measured the land with our footsteps and listened to its stories with our hearts. That is why Joylocal was born.
