Destination Overview

Heilongjiang is China's northernmost province, with long, cold winters that have given rise to a unique ice and snow culture. Every winter, Harbin hosts the world-renowned Ice and Snow World and Sun Island Snow Sculpture Expo, while St. Sophia Cathedral and Central Street exude a strong Russian charm.

The snow mushroom-shaped roofs of Xuexiang Snow Town in Mudanjiang look like they were plucked straight from a fairy tale. Yabuli is the birthplace of China's ski tourism. Mohe is China's northernmost point, where visitors can experience the midnight sun in summer and catch the Northern Lights in winter. The volcanic landforms of Wudalianchi and the waterfall at Jingpo Lake showcase the awe-inspiring power of nature.
