Hubei is located in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. As part of the ancient region of Jingchu, it is the cradle of the brilliant Chu culture. Wuhan is a key transport hub linking nine provinces. The Yellow Crane Tower stands right by the river, and the timeless verse "The ancient man has ridden the yellow crane away" has captivated countless travelers. East Lake stretches out with vast, misty waters, and its cherry blossoms bloom in brilliant profusion.
The Yangtze River Three Gorges stretch from Fengjie in Chongqing in the west to Yichang in Hubei in the east. With the majestic Qutang Gorge, scenic Wuxia Gorge, and perilous Xiling Gorge, the region boasts magnificent, spectacular landscapes. Wudang Mountain is a renowned sacred mountain of Taoism, and its ancient architectural complex is listed as a World Heritage Site. Shennongjia preserves primeval forests and the local legend of the wild man, and is known as a natural oxygen bar. The Bianzhong bells of Marquis Yi of Zeng bear witness to the glory of pre-Qin musical civilization.
