8-Day Guizhou Land of Qian Ancient Sages' Trail Tour
Follow in the footsteps of Lingshan and ancient sages on a journey of self-discovery. 8 days and 7 nights: a cross-era spiritual journey for three seekers — a profound spiritual odyssey spanning from nature worship to folk wisdom, and from the philosophical wisdom of sages to geographical exploration.

Design Concept
Take the World Natural Heritage site Mount Fanjing as your spiritual starting point, and perceive the cosmic faith of heaven and earth amid the sea of clouds on this sacred mountain.
This is a rare in-depth cultural itinerary in China that systematically links the Guizhou footprints of three great Ming Dynasty seekers: Zhang Sanfeng, Wang Yangming, and Xu Xiake. Its three layered spiritual dimensions progress from the Taoist philosophy of unity between humanity and nature, to the Confucian practice of inward self-cultivation, to the geographer’s relentless pursuit of truth and exploration.
We reject the cursory, superficial sightseeing commentary of standard tours, and transform abstract cultural concepts into immersive physical and mental experiences you can actively take part in: Practice tai chi and breathing exercises at Zhang Sanfeng’s former cultivation site, take a guided silent meditation session in the original cave where Wang Yangming attained enlightenment, and use an English edition of *Xu Xiake’s Travels* to cross-reference and observe the karst landforms on site.
Head deep into Shiqian to meet face-to-face with national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritors, and follow the Yunnan-Guizhou Tea Horse Road to connect with bridge marvels spanning six centuries.
All three sages journeyed from the imperial heartland to remote borderlands, yet accomplished their most pivotal life breakthroughs in these outlying regions. This journey invites you to step into the role of a traveler, walk slowly along the sages’ footsteps, reflect in quiet stillness, and take home a force that grows from within.

Notices & Booking Info
Notices
【Hiking & Fitness】 Daily walks cover 3–8 km, mostly on gentle ancient trails and scenic area walking paths; no professional mountaineering skills are required. You can take the cable car up and down Mount Fanjing to greatly reduce hiking intensity. We recommend maintaining moderate exercise before your trip. If you are unable to hike, please let us know in advance so we can arrange alternative rest and adjustment plans for you. 【Clothing & Gear】 Wear non-slip, wear-resistant hiking shoes or athletic shoes (do not wear new shoes or high heels). Temperature differences between morning/evening and daytime are large in Guizhou’s mountainous areas, so layered dressing is recommended: a moisture-wicking base layer + warm mid-layer + windproof outer layer. When visiting Taoist temples, academies, ancient towns and other cultural sites, we recommend wearing modest, appropriate attire. Carry a lightweight raincoat with you. We also recommend bringing trekking poles, sun protection supplies, insect repellent, personal common medications, and a portable water cup. 【Accommodation Information】 Accommodation primarily consists of local boutique hotels and unique homestays, with overall excellent facilities. Accommodation in some remote areas cannot compare to star-rated hotels in first-tier cities. Shiqian Hot Spring is a natural geothermal hot spring, and water temperatures fluctuate naturally across different seasons. Hot water supply at some mountain hotels may be affected by weather conditions. 【Dietary Information】 Guizhou cuisine is dominated by sour and spicy flavors. If you have dietary restrictions (vegetarian, allergies, no spicy food, halal, etc.), please inform us when registering for the trip. The itinerary includes local alcohol tasting sessions; if you are not able to drink alcohol, you can substitute it with tea or fruit juice. 【Cultural Etiquette】 When visiting Taoist temples, academies, ancient towns, and intangible cultural heritage venues, please keep quiet and comply with site regulations. Please ask for permission before taking photos of local villagers or intangible cultural heritage inheritors. When experiencing tai chi, meditation, or intangible cultural heritage activities, please respect the guidance of instructors and heritage inheritors. Do not carve, deface or damage ancient post roads and cultural relics at will. Ethnic minority villages have their own folk customs and taboos; please respect local traditions. 【Environmental Protection】 Follow the "Leave No Trace" mountain principle: do not pick wild plants, do not litter, do not stray from designated walking paths. Please take all garbage out of the scenic area for centralized disposal. Do not use chemical cleaning agents in natural environments such as rivers and karst caves. 【Itinerary Adjustments】 The tour leader reserves the right to flexibly adjust the itinerary order based on weather, road conditions, or local folk activities. Alternative cultural experience activities will be arranged in case of extreme adverse weather. 【Booking Recommendations】 It is recommended to book at least 30 days in advance. When booking, please confirm your dietary restrictions, special needs, and fitness level. June to August is the rainy season in Guizhou; March to May and September to November are the best seasons to travel.
