7-Day Ink Wash Hiking in Zhejiang & Anhui: Fuchun River, Huizhou-Hangzhou Ancient Trail and Huangshan Sea of Clouds

7-Day Zhejiang-Anhui Ink Wash Hiking Tour Follow the brushstroke trails of Huang Gongwang to hike through the real-world landscapes of *Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains*. Many overseas visitors only get to savor the charm of Jiangnan from ancient scrolls; this route follows the cultural vein of the Xin'an and Fuchun Rivers, which form the same river system, leading you from the Maling Ancient Trail in Hangzhou and the Huizhou-Hangzhou Ancient Trail all the way to the sea of clouds atop Huangshan and the Sanjiang Greenway in Jiande. Four sections of low-to-moderate intensity easy hikes connect river waters, ancient trails, ancient villages, and majestic peaks, with an overnight stay on the summit of Huangshan to quietly await sunrise and sunset.

Built around the core IP Walking Along the Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains, this tour weaves together three distinct layers of experiences.

  1. Core IP experience: Immerse yourself in the literati-style landscape beauty immortalized by Huang Gongwang, alongside the winding, continuous waterway of the Xin’an-Fuchun River.
  2. Off-the-beaten-path experience: Trek four gentle, easy-grade hiking trails — the Maling Ancient Path, Hui-Hang Ancient Path, Xieli Countryside, and Sanjiang Greenway — far from crowded tourist hotspots.
  3. Living cultural experience: Explore Hongcun’s iconic ox-shaped water system, wander Tunxi Old Street to soak up authentic Huizhou merchant heritage, and step into the millennia-old Yanzhou Ancient City. These are vibrant, living local communities, not staged, artificial scenic attractions.

We’ve designed a leisurely, slow-paced itinerary, with only one main hiking activity scheduled per day, leaving plenty of time to stop for tea, take photos, or simply unwind. We’ve also reserved one night of mountain-top accommodation on Huangshan, so you can enjoy both the sunset and sunrise without rushing through sightseeing.

For unforgettable, share-worthy travel memories, the four ancient trails paired with mountain-top sunrises create a picture-perfect sequence of vistas. Guests will leave with far more than just souvenirs — they’ll take home a rich, immersive landscape story worth sharing with others.

Notices & Booking Info

Notices

【Visa Exemption Notice】The main entry ports for Zhejiang and Anhui along this itinerary — Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and Huangshan Tunxi International Airport — are both eligible for the 240-hour transit visa exemption. Passengers holding passports from eligible countries may enter China visa-free and stay for the permitted duration. Please ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months, and you hold a confirmed onward flight ticket and itinerary. Passengers who do not meet the visa exemption requirements must apply for a Chinese visa on their own. Specific eligible countries and stay rules are subject to the latest announcements from China's border inspection authorities. 【Insurance & Qualifications】Our tour guides and drivers all hold official practicing qualifications. The tour includes travel agency liability insurance, and we also provide complimentary overseas travel accident insurance for the entire trip (covering medical care and emergency rescue), which only applies to items arranged by our company. Hiking is a moderately intense outdoor activity, so we recommend that passengers purchase separate specialized insurance covering high-risk activities such as hiking and mountaineering. 【Risk Notice】① This product is a low-to-moderately intense hiking itinerary, including 7-13km hiking sections and ridgeline mountaineering on Huangshan. Passengers with cardiovascular, cerebrovascular or joint diseases are advised to participate with caution, and prepare their personal commonly used medications; ② The temperature difference between day and night at the summit of Huangshan is extremely large and winds are strong, so you must prepare windproof and warm clothing; ③ Tiandu Peak operates a five-year rotation rest system and reservation-based visitor caps, so there is an objective risk that you may not be able to ascend the peak. We will implement alternative plans such as the Penglai Three Islands; ④ Sunrise and sunset views are affected by weather conditions, so we cannot guarantee they will be visible; ⑤ Costs and safety risks of self-selected activities outside the scheduled itinerary are borne by passengers themselves.

Booking & Cancellation

【Cancellation Policy】 All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email, and cancellation fees will be calculated from the date the written notice is received: · 30–45 days before departure (inclusive): 10% of the total tour cost will be charged; · 15–29 days before departure (inclusive): 30% of the total tour cost will be charged; · 7–14 days before departure (inclusive): 50% of the total tour cost will be charged; · Within 7 days before departure (inclusive) or no-show: 100% of the total tour cost will be charged, with no refund. For all cancellations listed above, non-refundable third-party costs that have already been incurred (such as pre-booked attraction tickets, hotel deposits, etc.) will not be refunded. 【Alternative Plan B】 In the event of heavy rain, strong winds, attraction capacity restrictions, or mountain closures, we will adjust the tour itinerary and replace affected activities with alternatives of equivalent cultural value and safety level (if Tiandu Peak is closed, we will arrange a visit to view the three Penglai islands; if sunrise or sunset viewing at Huangshan is unavailable, we will prioritize viewing the sea of clouds and unique rock formations). We will not reduce the overall tour experience, nor will we impose any mandatory additional spending.
